Born in Epsom, Kevin has experienced the excitement of horse racing from a young age, with family trips to the races and regular walks on Epsom Downs. A career in the Diplomatic Service, followed by running his own company specializing in border security, offered many years of living and working outside UK.
Opportunities were always taken to coincide trips with local racing fixtures. Kevin has experienced horse racing in Pakistan, Barbados, Malaysia, Canada, the USA, Mauritius, Australia, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, India, Dubai, South Africa, France and The Philippines. Kevin, and his best friend Dave King, first owned a racehorse, Orchard King, with Owen Brennan in 1994. Shares have been taken in many horses with various trainers since. He has also enjoyed ownership in Mauritius and South Africa.
One of the more interesting projects in his career was assisting Henry Beeby and DBS in their efforts to penetrate the mainland China racing industry in 1996 when working at the British Consulate in Shanghai. Kevin first took a share in a horse trained by Stuart Edmunds in 2017. He, along with David Shuttle, now manages the Stuart Edmunds Racing Club and The Danum Partnership Syndicates. He is now “living the dream” of buying and selling racehorses and working in the industry by supporting Edmunds Racing Limited with their business and commercial needs. Even after nearly 30 years in horse racing Kevin still admits to learning something from Stuart about horses or racing every day.
